This is a bunch of problems that will test how well you understand your trading.. a very good learning too.

This is simply the worst book I have ever read on options, or trading in general for that matter. For starters, the book is literally nothing other than questions and answers and there isn't a corresponding book that teaches the information that the questions ask. Granted, the problems weren't too difficult regardless, but my main complaint with this book is that it is organized by a question and then right below the question is the answer. It would be much more advantageous to the reader to have a section of questions followed by a section of corresponding answers, which would allow you to actually solve the question without the answer being right in front of you.

From my perspective, this book was useless. In the author's defense, I never made it all the way through. When I saw workbook in the title, I assume there would be some useful text followed by problems to work out. this is not the case. It is literally a series of questions which appear to be quite random with no real information provided throughout. (Or at least as far as I made it.) When I was a kid, there was a game we'd play where you had to say whatever came into your head, without thinking. That's what this book was for me, completely random and not particularly useful.

The workbook really helps to ingrain the different ways to trade options and how to put the odds in your favors.

Jeff Augen is one of the most knowledgeable traders I have ever been in contact with. I have all of his books and have befitted tremendously from each one in a different way.

As a casual options trader, I was in for a big surprise when I first opened this book: you are in the deep end of the pool from day one. It's an advanced workbook for experienced traders."The Option Trader's Workbook" takes its role rather seriously. It's a "workbook" in every sense of the word; without exposing many details about key concepts like volatility or the Greeks, author Jeff Augen takes us immediately into question-and-answer mode. You're expected to have had the necessary basic exposure to these concepts in advance, and Augen's answers serve to analyze the details in depth.It's not at all unusual to be asked what is the value of 1 standard deviation price change given a certain implied volatility, or what the result of an explicit change in vega would be to the option price: the answer is absolutely enlightening, but you'd need to be an expert to know off the top of your head.This points to both a strength and a weakness in Augen's approach. What seems like an instructor's edition of a graduate-level finance exam is both enlightening and off-putting. Nothing about the format is engaging to a reader who is not in possession of the requisite skills. Reversing the format (expository text first, followed by a quick question/answer period) would have made this a useful Intro To Options manual for newer traders, and serve to sharpen the skills of intermediate-to-advanced readers.That said, it's a treasure trove of options analysis tools, advanced trades and fundamentals. You will probably make profitable trades if you stick with it, and you'll learn something too.

This collection brings together interviews, photos, and storyboards from many of Wes Anderson's films, and will be a source of joy and wonder for anyone with an interest in his work. It is probably the pound-for-pound king of coffee table books for anyone under 30, provided that they enjoy dysfunctional or fragmented families that are drawn together in times of crisis.I am very happy with the quality of the binding and heft of the cover, and am confident that my copy will stand up to lots of use. The pictures are wonderful, and I thoroughly enjoyed reading more about Wes' vision for some of my favorite films. The production stills for Fantastic Mr. Fox are particularly stunning, but the on-set photos from The Royal Tenenbaums and The Life Aquatic really give you a sense of the camaraderie between the actors.If you or someone you know are a Wes Anderson fan, this should be on the top of your list for the next gift-giving occasion.

I don't buy many "coffee table" books, but I had read reviews of this one and put it on my must-have list. I've read and admired Matt Zoller Seitz' reviews for years, and I've been a hard-core Wes Anderson fan since Rushmore, anxiously awaiting each new masterpiece. Anderson doesn't release many films....this book shows you why. The level of craftsmanship and detail put into each production can only be accomplished with many months of time and effort. The settings, atmosphere, camera angles, lighting, and overall ambiance are just as important as the screenplay and the casting. This book meticulously plots the steps involved in each production. My only regret is that the book was released before The Grand Budapest Hotel; that would have made for an interesting chapter. Still, this book will make a much-perused volume in the library of any Anderson aficionado or film buff.

My Dad nearly pees his pants with laughter when he watches Wes Anderson films. Then he proceeds to quote them for the next month whenever I talk to him on the phone.If you have anyone in your life like this, the book will make an excellent gift. While I like Wes Anderson, I can't claim that I would scream like a 12 year old at a Justin Bieber concert were I given this gift. I only have the memories of my 55 year-old father performing that same maneuver when presented with this masterpiece.

Cannot adequately review this spectacular film book. Although it is about Wes Anderson's seven films from "Bottle Rocket" through to "Moonrise Kingdom" there is so much more in this extraordinary publication. Essays and interviews by Mark Zoller Seitz, amazing illustrations by Max Dalton and endless fascinating stills from the films plus a potpourri of relevant items from old films, books, magazines, catalogs and advertisements that will have you intrigued and wanting to keep returning again and again to marvel at all this content. You don't have to be a Wes Anderson fan or to have seen all his films to love this beautifully designed book. A remarkable work but one of those books you have to have to fully appreciate its merits. A publishing gem from Abrams and priced very reasonably.

Got this from the library a couple of times & finally bought my own copy when I was on a Wes Anderson film-watching spree. The first time I got it from the library, I was stunned by how large it is. It really is a great coffee table book, but not one that should just sit there looking pretty. It's a cool book to page through in moments of time or fully immerse yourself in if you're interesting in making films.

Seitz has put together a winning combination of material and interviews for fans of Anderson. There are many stills and behind the scenes photos, but what really sets this book apart is the information included. Wes Anderson hasn't completed as many films as, say Kurosawa, so this book is more centered on actual content and not a broad cross section of dozens of films.That being said, it's still chock full of glorious photos. I bought as a gift for part of my partner's Christmas present and she loved it. I highly recommend this for any Wes Anderson fan.Also note: I got it straight from Amazon for $24 even. Urban Outfitters is also selling it for the full MSRP $34.99. Barnes and Nobel still have some, so don't pay the huge markup from third parties if you can avoid it.

I was thrilled when I found this book since my boyfriend is a long-time Wes Anderson fan. The book is simply beautiful and very well thought-out. It includes tons of amazing photos from on-set along with interviews and other interesting tid-bits. It was also much bigger than I expected and the hardcover makes it a nice collector's item. Something to be noted: The Grand Budapest Hotel is not included in this book because it has one of its own by the same author. I intend on purchasing that book in the future as well. My boyfriend loved the book and is still reading through it. When I first got the book it was damaged on the corners of the spine (like it had been dropped) but Amazon was great about exchanging it and I had a new book in perfect condition in just two days. Very happy with this book and Amazon.

It looks good, it's big and very engaging. But I wish there were more content contributed to this project from Mr Wes Anderson himself. I was hoping for cool anecdotes and behind the scenes stuff. New stuff that I can't get from the movies. This is more of a chronicling of the movies than a behind the scenes experience.It does what it does very well. I thought it did something slightly different. The book deserves 4 stars!

About the Author
John Norman is creator of the Gorean Saga, a series of novels spanning 25 titles written from 1967 to 1988, that have become cult classics. He has also produced a three-installment fictional series Telnarian Histories plus two other fiction works, and a nonfiction paperback entitled Imaginative Sex, all of which were out of print for many years but are being brought back by New World Publishers. Two new novels in the Gorean saga will be published when the 25 backlist titles are all back in print. Mr. Norman was born in Chicago, Illinois in 1931. He is married and has three children.
