I would buy it again, but I wish that it was stated significantly more clearly that this thing is LOOSELEAF. I opened the package and almost spilled all the pages out on the floor, in which case I probably would have packed it back up and sent it back to these people. How long would it take to reorganize it if you dropped it on the floor? They should at least have something to temporarily hold it together even if it's not a full binder.I'm glad that they sell it and it is a lot cheaper than most of the alternatives, but there's no way I'd give it 5 stars without some form of at least temporary binding--especially since they don't warn you in the description.

First off, I'm not sure how anyone who may have ordered this was confused about it being the book version. It clearly states CD-ROM. Now, I think anyone needing this should get the book version. This CD is only good for a limited number of installations. After installing, I was having issues and it wouldn't open. I called support, I had to do a few things, then uninstall. They said it was a common problem. They did also say that the reinstall would not count against me. I suggest if you have any problems and need to reinstall then contact support first.

Perfect book for code enforcement.

As an owner/builder, this CD version of the 2008 NEC code is just what I needed to work through the electrical phase of my project. The code is searchable and picking through it to find what I needed was fairly simple. I used this CD in conjunction with an excellent book by Ray Mullin - Electrical Wiring Residential. The book and this CD are perfect partners and all I needed. I also have the IECC and IRC on CD. The limitation to only 2 product loads of the NEC with the CD key might be irritating for some people. In my case it needed to be loaded on only one computer and wasn't an issue. I'm guessing if you called the provided phone number, you would be able to explain and exceed that limitation for further loads. 2 load limitation takes away a star.EDIT 21Mar2010: Had to format my hard drive. The NEC CD loaded up no problem on the second go-round. We'll see what happens when I get to #3 someday.

This book would appeal well to teenagers especially starting out on their path to a career in fantasy drawing. It explains concepts in an easily understood and 'friendly' way which talks 'with' not 'at' the reader. I noticed several things I say to my learners and so this would be a good book linked to college lessons on concept art. This book is laid out especially well and can either be read straight through or delved into for use. The diagrams were extremely helpful and detailed. I found it realistic and energetic and a good 'inspiration' itself (see page 14). The book is about fantasy combat and this is clear from the feel of movement and pace throughout the book. It is definitely one to recommend and the only thing I felt would enhance this is an accompany website or CD as the book could bend very quickly as it is a book to use not just read. About the Author
Matt Stawicki is an award-winning artist who has been creating dramatic fantasy images for over 20 years. His art has been on the covers of books for many fine authors, including (in no particular order) David Eddings, Margaret Weiss, Larry Nevin, Robert Heinlein, and Issac Asimov. In addition he has created images for a wide range of products, including collector's plates, figurines, collectable card games, and video game covers. His colorful work has been influenced by such notable artists as Howard Pyle, N.C. Wyeth, and Maxfield Parrish. Matt is a classically trained oil painter and did all his work in oils for the first several years of his career. In recent years, Matt has moved to doing much of his art in "digital paint."
